Mark F. Stickney

Mark has over thirty years of financial management experience, twenty of which are in management consulting. He has worked with companies as a senior management advisor in areas such as business reorganization, acquisition, operational review, debt restructuring, and interim management. He has served as a Receiver and a Chapter 11 Trustee, with clearance from the Department of Justice, Office for United States Trustee in the Districts of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Mark has also served as the restructuring CFO for a publicly traded (NASDAQ) restaurant chain; as a forensic examiner for a $40 million health care related entity; as CFO for a $140 million distribution, manufacturing and direct marketing company; as CRO for a $165 million wholesale distributor; as restructuring advisor for a $500 million fuel related distributor with multi-unit retail establishments; as CRO for a $40 million defense contract manufacturer; as CFO of a startup VC backed medical device company; as a restructuring professional with a $360 million NASDAQ traded contract food service provider; as restructuring professional for a 33 building, 11 company, real estate entity in Chapter 11 bankruptcy with 23 different secured creditors; and as acting CFO, CRO, financial advisor, and litigation support in numerous business reorganization and transaction environments.

Mark began his career in public accounting and spent five years with KPMG Peat Marwick, where he earned a designation as a Certified Public Accountant and was trained in numerous forensic accounting engagements. Mark has earned a B.S. from the University of Maine, an MBA from the University of Southern Maine, and successfully completed the course work and comprehensive exams in a Ph.D. program in Organizational Behavior from the University of Maine.

Gary E. Wardwell

Gary has over twenty-eight years of experience in financial management, mergers and acquisitions, forensic accounting, auditing, debt and equity financings. Recent consulting assignments include serving as forensic accountant and interim finance director for an 8 month period with a $40 million health services business and serving as long term financial consultant and interim CFO for a 500 employee direct marketing company that made the Inc. 100 list of fastest growing companies in the USA in 2010. Gary was responsible for monthly financial reporting, financial analysis, and management support. Previously, Gary has served as Treasurer of a $50 million engineering and professional services firm, where he was the head of the accounting, human resources, and information technology departments. He assisted the firm in implementing a leveraged Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Gary has also served as controller of a start-up venture capital backed medical device company, and a $140 million distribution, manufacturing, and direct marketing company. In addition, Gary served as Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of a $100 million publicly traded holding company which invested in water utility, real estate, manufacturing, and professional services assets.

William G. Libby, CPA, CGMA

Bill has over nineteen years of experience in financial management, financial analysis, process improvement, controllership, auditing, accounting, system implementation, budgeting development, forecasting, and financial/business strategy. During this time, he has worked for and consulted with companies in the manufacturing, marketing, utility, construction, health care, education, and non-profit industries. He has served as a Senior Accounting Manager for a $2 billion publicly traded utility company responsible for financial reporting, financial analysis, and compliance reporting. Also, he was the Controller for a $180 million education non-profit, where he was responsible for financial reporting, analysis, and process improvements for all activities, domestic and international. Previously, he was a Controller for a $15 million manufacturer which included responsibilities of financial management, financial reporting, and human resource management.

Bill began his career in public accounting after serving eight years in the submarine service of the U.S. Navy. His public experience was over six years with two regional public accounting firms, Albin, Randall & Bennett, where he earned a designation as a Certified Public Accountant, and Marshall & Libby. Bill has earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Southern Maine.

Ronald A. Stephan, Jr.

Ron has over 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, predominantly in management and executive roles. Prior to joining Spinglass Management Group, LLC, Ron owned and operated a restaurant which he grew to three locations throughout Southern Maine. As the CEO, he managed employees and oversaw inventory, cost controls, marketing, budgeting and accounting. Over the 26 years, the restaurant won numerous awards and accolades including Best of Maine reader’s polls for twenty consecutive years. Ron has also developed a retail line of sauce which has been sold at grocery stores throughout New England.

As a consultant Ron has served as the COO for a start-up fast casual restaurant where he developed operational guidelines, policies, procedures and controls for a commissary and unit level operations. He coordinated focus groups, managed the capital expenditure and operating budget and assisted in the layout and design of the prototype restaurant. He guided the team in the research and development of food products including implementation of HACCP guidelines required for a commissary satellite system serving multi-units across state lines.

Ron began his management career with a publicly traded (NASDAQ) restaurant chain as a General Manager and was appointed to the new store opening management team. Between restaurant openings he would regularly be deployed as a trouble shooter for underperforming units throughout the company.

Ron attended Stonehill College, where he earned his B.S. Ron is a Certified Food Protection Manager and has extensive experience with HACCP controlled facilities. Additionally, Ron served as the Vice President of a private country club and was a board member for the Maine Restaurant Association. His volunteer endeavors include Campaign Manager for the United Way of Greater Portland, continuing education instructor, and ski instructor for Maine Handicapped Skiing.

Richard I. Stone

Richard Stone is a senior consultant with Spinglass Management Group, LLC. He has over forty years of experience in the areas of fiscal management, cost strategy and financial budgeting. He specializes in reducing operating and labor costs, increasing profit margins, inventory management, developing organizational efficiency and delivering consistent increases in shareholder value.

Previous to joining Spinglass, Richard owned and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Standard Electric Company headquartered in Bangor, ME and was a National Director of WESCO, the largest electrical component distributor in North America. During his ten-year tenure at WESCO, Richard oversaw facilities in the United States and also had exposure in Canada and Mexico with a focus of expanding sales and profitability through improving pricing methodology, enhancing inventory control and stronger negotiating tactics with major vendors.

In addition to his private sector work, Richard has been elected to the Maine State Legislature, has served four terms on the Bangor City Council as Chair of the City’s Finance Committee and was Mayor of Bangor for two-terms. Richard has earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University.

Valentyna Koval

Valentyna is a junior consultant with Spinglass Management Group, LLC. She assists firm clients in the areas of accounting operations and financial analysis. Her background includes serving as an outsourced accounting manager for a number of small businesses. She also has an extensive experience in customer service in the hospitality industry. Valentyna has earned a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics from Cherkassy State Technological University in Ukraine.

Tasha M. Jackson

Tasha is the Office Manager for Spinglass Management Group, LLC where she is responsible for a diverse set of administrative tasks. Her background includes serving as the point of contact as well and administrative assistant for a local cleaning company. She also has extensive experience in customer service in the hospitality industry. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology.

Tom C. Vose

Tom is a Senior Consultant with Spinglass Management Group, LLC. He has over 15 years of Information Technology experience where he assists clients with assessing their current IT infrastructure, planning new IT systems integration, security audit preparation, network documentation, IT project management, interim CIO services, and assisting clients in hiring key IT personnel. His experience includes start-up, small businesses and manufacturing companies as well as nonprofit, educational and financial institutions. Previous to joining Spinglass, Tom worked with a software development company that specialized in software for financial institutions to develop and implement a secure IT environment and with a large hydroelectric consulting firm to develop and deploy a secure network with remote locations in North Carolina, Washington, Oregon and California.

Currently, Tom is at the forefront of advising clients on cloud services including Office 365, Google Docs, SharePoint, Cloud Storage and collocated server solutions. Tom remains active in the community and supports several local organizations. He was on the Board of Directors for Sexual Assault Services of Southern Maine for six years and presently serves on the Board of Directors for St. Andre’s Home in Biddeford. At St. Andre’s he serves on the program committee and development committee and is helping them transition to a cloud based e-mail, document management and clinical records system. Tom has earned a B.A. in Psychology at the University of Southern Maine.

Curtis Agnew

Curtis is an IT Technician with Spinglass Management Group, LLC. His role is to provide direct desktop and network support services to customers, to either resolve outages or for setup of new equipment.

Prior to joining Spinglass, Curtis worked at Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems, supporting the multitude of users in a large scale corporate network. While in this role, he responded to the time sensitive outages by coordinating the responses of eight different departments in order to restore critical services as quickly as possible. He started his career on networks for the United States Air Force, maintaining the sensitive networks which traverse the DoD bases. Altogether he has 8+ years of professional IT experience, and is currently pursuing his B.S. in Information Technology to bring additional knowledge to the customers.

Stephen Collins

Stephen is a junior consultant with Spinglass Management Group, LLC. He assists firm clients in the areas of financial analysis and accounting operations. He has a background of over ten years of experience in the restaurant industry, including training of new employees as well as managerial support, and overall restaurant operations. Stephen has earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine, where he majored in finance.

Rick Lorello

Rick is a Consultant with Spinglass Management Group, LLC.  Rick has over 20 years of Information Technology experience assisting clients with systems upgrades, software upgrades, email migration, security assessments, and IT project planning including backup and disaster planning.  Rick has experience helping engineering firms, marketing firms, insurance agencies, property management, service companies and food service businesses.  Before joining Spinglass, Rick worked in the financial industry managing the IT infrastructure and connectivity of over fifteen acquisitions from Maine to Florida.

Rick is currently working with customers providing IT stability, security and disaster recovery.  He has served on the board of the Chamber of Commerce, Youth Hockey Association and is a member of the Knights of Columbus.  Rick has a Masters Degree in Information Systems from Florida Institute of Technology.
